From! An article in the NYT, Friday, November 20, 2009 by Laurie Goodstein, called “Christian Leaders Unite on Political Issues” is a great article…
The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference. Freedom of expression consists of the rights to freedom of speech, press, assembly and to petition the government for a redress of grievances, and the implied rights of association and belief.
The below is a far right and very political group of Christian leaders’ attempt to create “Fear” in the hearts and mind of right-winged followers. This manifesto is not required because they are already protected by The First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
The Christian Leaders uniting on Political issues are from (147) evangelical and both Roman Catholic and Orthodox Christian leaders. This group has created a declaration (manifesto), stating this:
“We pledge to each other, and to our fellow believers, that no power on earth, be it cultural or political, will intimidate us into silence or acquiescence to: participate in abortions, embryo-destructive research, assisted suicide and euthanasia, or any other anti-life act; nor will we (the above) bend to any rule purporting to force us to bless immoral sexual partnership, treat them as marriages or the equivalent.”
Come on Guys! Stop this spiritual waste of time…We need jobs, food, clothing and shelter for too many Americans. Is the Church a santuary for these men and women? Are the doors of these huge structures wide open? Why not?
And! I believe that our gay folk deserve a world without moral pandering and a stupid manifesto. If embryo-destructive research saves lives than use these procedures…Simple, Hell Yeah! Abortion is not a playground for religion…It is a human situation both personal and personal and personal and…Old white men telling young women what they should do with? How about assisted suicide and euthanasia…again a human situation and is personal and personal and personal and…
From St. Matthew 7: 2… (Christ Jesus, as he was ending His “Sermon on the Mount”).
“Judge not, that ye be not judged.” “For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”
So many modern ministers appear to be exhausting their energies, condemning modern men and women. This disorderly order is a creation of big business and the use of all ways and means to express discontent and fear and wealth.
…Churches survive not through peace and prayer but because the delivery of judgments, sin and sinners identification and “pass that plate around again my friend…” and the efforts to sell salvation is, well – great for careers?
Let share, Respect and Understanding and Peace and Love for all. Powerful and Wealthy Religious Folks must realize that no mortal man stands in front of Heaven’s Doors.
And! I pray that our Right-Winged Clergy grow Left-wings so that our Dove of Peace may fly once more…
